Weekend Seminars and Working Clinics

Due to many requests from clients, I have added this service to assist owners in maximizing their working relationship with their Versatile Hunting Dog. To guarantee each working team receives quality instruction,  participation is restricted to four individuals and their dogs. A minimum of two individuals area required to hold a workshop. Workshops will be arranged based on participants' schedule and needs. If you or your group is interested in attending, please contact me and we will work together to determine an appropriate date.

Basic Training Weekend

I have designed this program to target those with limited experience in training a gun dog, first time gun dog owners, owners with young dogs, and those wishing to prepare for the NAVHDA Natural Ability Test, other organization's Hunt Tests, and/or your pup's first hunting season.

We will begin Friday afternoons with class room instruction where students will receive an introduction to Animal Behavior and the Scientific Principals of Conditioning as it relates to animal training.  You will be instructed on how dogs learn and how to clearly communicate with your dog. Proper puppy development and the NAVHDA Testing Program will also be discussed.

Saturday and Sunday we will spend our days in the field at different training locations in the area. We will focus on tracking game, searching for and pointing game in the field, and water work. Any problems you are having with your dog will be addressed on these days and a solution will be prescribed.

Intermediate/Advanced Training Level Weekend

Whether you want to proceed to a more advanced level of testing, or just want a well mannered hunting dog, this weekend will be dedicated to one on one instruction and problem solving. Primary areas of focus will be steadiness, advanced obedience, duck search, understanding force fetch  , understanding & setting up lining drills,   and double marked retrieves.

Cost for participation is $500 and includes:
